This week is the second week of to live in Makassar and the week for observation and to be teaching assistant in SMP- Telkom school.

 

August 13, 14 and 15 were observed and to be teaching assistant.



Summarize of observed and to be teaching assistant.


1.Teaching methods

Teachers have a variety of teaching methods, including content descriptions for students to understand. Asking students during instruction Teaching materials such as video opening. The use of models or images related to meat in teaching. Or a demonstration of scientific action for students to see and most classes are taught by using questioning techniques, the students analyze, and motivating learning. And teacher the end of the period is measured by the use of the quick exam, including have a worksheet for student sometime to evaluate students’ knowledge.


2. Planning for teaching

Before teaching, teachers will prepare lesson plans for each topic. Each class may have different teaching plans. Curriculum, curriculum analysis, content design, expected learning outcomes, learning objectives, content preparation, media preparation, learning materials, prepare measurement and evaluation tools, such as the assessment form. And teachers have explored the level of student ability before teaching. Because teachers have to analyze the background and problems of each student in a different way of learning. Teachers will be able to handle classroom instruction to suit all students and most effectively.


3. Preparing lessons and materials

The teacher prepares the contents of each lesson before teaching. Each chapter will be divided into sections so that enough time to teach each lesson. The teacher will not record the whole chapter in just one lesson. In the content for teaching, teachers will add more videos, pictures or models to the lesson hours to enhance their understanding of the students and stimulate their interest in learning. The content of the tutorial is based on the student's textbooks that follow the school's curriculum. Teachers may also search for additional content online for teaching purposes. The content of the teacher is very tight and easy to understand. Each grade has different content. Difficulties are also different. Teachers need to prepare the content to be effective in teaching the most.



4. Teaching in class The teacher's teaching method is First, the teacher will stimulate students' interest before the lesson. By asking questions about content before class, students learn about bones. What is bone? There are videos that are about the content of the lessons for students to see before teaching. This is a test of basic knowledge of the students before teaching. This method is a survey of students' background knowledge and assessment of students before class.

Second, teachers are encouraged to teach before the lesson. Teachers will begin teaching. The teacher's teaching style describes the contents of the book and describes the contents of the video. Students will have greater understanding of the content. So the content from the picture in the video makes it more understandable student time. There may also be examples of everyday events that accompany teaching, so that students can easily visualize their head in a way that students will understand the content more easily. Teachers will only act as facilitators or just the person who motivates the student to think through the questions. It is an assessment during the teaching. This teaching method is similar to Thailand teaching. The third step is when the teacher completes the tutorial. The teacher will check the student's understanding again, such as questions may be asked again or give students examples of situations related to the content that the teacher taught. In each teaching, teachers will have to summarize the content before finishing the classroom, to emphasize the understanding to students. A summary of knowledge learned. And the teacher will use the question as a guide to the conclusion. From there, teachers will have exercises for students to do before the end of teaching time, such as exercises at the end of group work, etc., which will review the knowledge of students and evaluate the teaching after school. Teachers will allow students to search for information from their mobile phone in addition to the textbook.

Each week, teachers will not have to give homework to students. One week of student study There will be only 1-2 homework. Piece or none at all. Because teachers think that after school is a time of learning other than in the classroom. It's time for family and student vacation time. There are only exercises in the class. This is different from teaching in Thailand in one week of teaching, students will receive homework from almost every class and every day.

Other

Students will have pray of Islam before they begin teaching around 1 minute. Before the start of the lesson, the teacher would have the student bring his or her own cell phone into the mobile storage box that the teacher has prepared in front of the classroom to prevent students from using their mobile phones during instruction. Because the students may not be interested in learning. Some cases where students are engaged must contact the family. Students will be allowed to use the phone and at the time of the exercise they will be able to use the phone.

5. Measurement and Evaluation

Each measurement and evaluation is relevant and consistent with the standards of the curriculum. The teacher will assess before class, during teaching and after learning the teaching. In each evaluation, the teacher may write a summary of the evaluation or an evaluation form, such as a workbook, pre-test, post-test, or group work assessment.

- Pre-assessment is the question of content that will teach and observe the behavior of students before they start teaching. The Pre- test may be taken before the teaching. This is the basic knowledge test that will be taught before the teacher teaches. And prepare students before teaching.

- During instruction, the teacher inquires knowledge in the content taught during the course. This is an examination of the students' understanding of the subject. Also, observe the behavior of students between how they behave. To assess any student who does not understand or do not intend to study in each lesson. To use as a way to improve the way or style of teaching. It is used as an assessment to develop lesson plans and activities to suit students in the next class.

- After the instruction, the final step is after the teacher finishes the course. Teachers may use activities, exercises, asking questions at the end of the class, or giving examples of their content. After each lesson, students have the post- test each student's knowledge. They can observe the student's last learning behavior and assess their willingness to learn. Discipline in work and cooperation in the group. 6. Learning materials and innovation

· Textbooks : written in Indonesian language.

· Technology : School is currently used electronic media, computer and internet etc. and have equipment that high technology.

· Computer : Computer can be defined as any electronic device that allows students to access the internet to research, create, and complete work. there are enough computers for the number of students. For the teachers, they use computer for making handout, creating the lesson plans and evaluating students’ grade. For students, they use computer for surfing the internet to find the information and find more knowledge, they also use computers for doing assignments.

· Cell phone: Students are allowed using a cell phone to search about their study or what they want to know or learning in the class.


7. Curriculum

The school curriculum is focused on have the organizing international standard education, Develop a coaching system for the formation of superior human character, Development of learning on material supported by information and technology facilities and Become a school that is clean, modern, comfortable, beautiful and healthy and used the National curriculum (Indonesian Curriculum) and the local content set by the school. It includes the standards with the details that most of public schools use it to be based on learning instruction. plans, activity, measurement, evaluation of each teaching and test every semester. The curriculum is similar to the Thai curriculum . However, it will vary in content in the curriculum that is defined in the content of the curriculum . And the curriculum of education in Thailand is focused on the technology and creative. Innovation to create people can think. They have the skills to apply for access to new technologies and innovations. This is different from that curriculum.


8. Teaching plan related to your major

In the topic that is taught is the science of biology. The lesson plans used in teaching will be used in conjunction with the content of the science teaching of junior high school. Consist of the objectives and goal of the teaching and learning are based on the science of bioethics and the design of teaching methods and activities in the lesson plan. By using scientific skills to teach. And lesson plans in science curriculum written in English.

Ceremony

This morning, the students joined to ceremony the class before the class began at 7 A.M.. By the ceremony in the row, there will be some student representatives of all students. It is the student council that conducts the ceremony. In the lineup there will be a school opera group, a national choir, and at the end of the ceremony there will be an Islamic prayer before the end of the ceremony.

Today is the day of the assessment. Students have works from teachers. And today I did not observe the teaching because the teacher made a school assessment.

In the afternoon, Buddy took me and my friends to visit another campus of State University of Makassar. It is a campus with a Faculty of Science.

Meet Mr. Prof. Dr. H. Husain Syam, M.TP.

Today I did not go to school. Because the schedule is today. Ms.Widya will take me and my friend to the State University of Makassar to meet with the Director of this university.

I am very excited and very happy to meet Mr. Prof. Dr. H. Husain Syam, M.TP.

He warmly welcomes us. He asked me about my existence in Makassar and asked about the teaching practice.

Time of exchange and learn Thai language and Bahasa language.




Today is another day I have not observed teaching. And students do not have to teach. For today is the last day of the school assessment. Make the teacher quite busy. But today I had the opportunity to talk to each student I had a class for teaching. To exchange about knowledge of language between me and the students, I share a cultural exchange that I know well and students want to know. We ask each other. In the classroom, I teach Thai in simple words that can be used in everyday life, such as "สวัสดี" means Hello or "สบายดีไหม" means How are you? teach them to students. They are very excited that I teach. And I asked the students to help me teach Bahasa language in some words I wanted to know. They were happy when they taught me in Bahasa language. Today we are very happy and fun for learning new things.

The science book that teacher use to teach

Today I have a total of 6 hours of grade8A, grade8B and grade9A to observation and teaching assistants.

For grade 8, they learned about Human growth and development and grade 9. Reproductive system. Before you start teaching Students will keep the phone in the box in front of the classroom before class. Islamic students will be praying for 1 minute. When the prayers are completed, the teacher will start teaching. It will start with a video about topics that will be taught to students before. When they finish, they will ask questions and explain what they teach. Sometimes it is explained along with watching the video. During the explanation, the teacher will always ask questions to students.

At the end before the hour ends. Teachers do the exercises on the subject.

In observation the students are very well prepared and enthusiastic in answering questions when the teacher asks questions and asks questions about the questions.

In this observation, the teacher taught in Bahasa Indonesia, although I did not understand, but I was aware of the student's willingness to learn and fun in the classroom.

Day of celebration


The independent day


Today I am not going to school because my schedule today is free. I and my friends went to the State University of Makassar. Today is the independent day of Indonesia. Every place in Indonesia is celebrated. I am very honored and excited to be attending this ceremony as it is an important day for Indonesian people.

The ceremony consisted of saying praise and inviting the flag to the top of the slagstaff by the university scouts, and at the end the director thanked me and my Thai friends for attending the event. At that time, I felt very heartened to have the opportunity to attend this ceremony.

At the ceremony in the afternoon. The university is celebrated as a common food of the university. This celebration made me aware of the various Makassar's food and was warmly welcomed by everyone. I am very happy today.
